Canzona Women's Ensemble: A Singing Place
From Gwyneth Walkers setting of the Quaker hymn "How Can I Keep From Singing" to Joan Szymkos "The Singing Place", and Rachmaninoffs lyrical "Angel", Canzona brings you songs of celebration and contemplation, poignant memories and lush romantic melodies. Composer Meredith Brammeier will conduct the west-coast premiere of "Elegy", which she wrote in memory of her mother, and the choir will open the concert with Spanish "Ave Maria", a tribute to Mother Mary.
