The Peekskill Film Festival Special Event: Alejandro Jodorowsky's Endless Poetry
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.

The Peekskill Film Festival presents a SPECIAL EVENT SCREENING
March 24, 2018 from 4- 6:30 PM.

In collaboration with AIM 18, The Peekskill Film Festival is honored to present master filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky's  Endless Poetry (Poesia Sin Fin) in a limited seating screening at The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art.

Q and A with ABKCO's Mick Gochanour and special guests to follow.

Endless Poetry continues Jodorowsky's intensely personal journey of growing up in 1940s Chile.

Against the wishes of his authoritarian father, the 20 year old Jodorowsky leaves home to pursue his dream of becoming a poet, and is introduced into the bohemian and artistic
inner circle of Santiago where he meets Enrique Lihn, Stella Diaz VarĂn, Nicanor Parra, all unknown at the time, but who would later become driving forces of twentieth century
Hispanic literature.

Living with these inspirational artists, Jodorowskys exploration of his inner feelings takes him on a journey of sensual experimentation leading him to realize his innermost desires and passions.

Continuing the autobiographical story he began in The Dance of Reality, Endless Poetry is an ode to the quest for beauty and inner truth, as a universal force capable of changing
ones life forever, written by a man who has dedicated his existence to creating spiritual and artistic awareness, told through Jodorowskys unique surreal and psychedelic visual language.

Art Industry Media (AIM) is a newly-formed division of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce. AIMs mission is to promote Peekskill and the surrounding Chamber territory as a media hub for the lower Hudson Valley. The inaugural initiative is Art Industry and Media 18 (aka AIM 18), an exciting weekend of events and programming designed to celebrate the regions emergence as a center for multimedia in the Hudson Valley.

Participating organizations include Westchester Community College, Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, Peekskill Arts Alliance, Peekskill Film Festival and Peekskill Clay Studio.

All proceeds benefit the cultural programming of the Field Library and the HVCCA.
