A Concert of Canceled Music
At 7 PM on Saturday, November 5th, at Durhams Riverside High School, the Durham Symphony Orchestra will present an all-classical program of masterworks which have been suppressed or put under threat due to social, political, or other non-musical controversies attached to them.

Music Director William Henry Curry will conduct and offer context for these masterpieces, to include works by Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Ives, Florence Price, Prokofiev, Scott Joplin, and Aaron Copland in addition to American folk and patriotic songs. Prepare to be surprised!

The program also includes tributes to the people of Ukraine and to the iconic African American singer Marian Anderson, whose concert on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial will be evoked by soprano Jemeesa Yarborough.  Join us for a timely, provocative, and engaging evening of music!
