Johnny Darlin
"BEST BET: Before Johnny Darlin, I have not seen another performer so successfully claim queerness as subversive power." - TheatreIsEasy "...Raw talent. Between professing his love for Olly Alexander to getting down in a cubicle, his music is exhilarating and dance-inducing." - TheatreInTheNow "Clubby, edgy, and pop-embracive. He is quite the showman!" - Homoground
Johnny Darlin brings his one-man electro-queercore concert to The Tank for one night! Armed with his keytar named Keeley, a voice that TheatreInTheNow calls "astonishing," an appreciation for the huge pop spectacles of Britney, Janet, & Madonna, and a whole bunch of feelings (mostly about boys!), Johnny combines good ole traditional southern baptist storytelling with huge hooks, all while dancing, stomping, and sweating up a storm. An alum of both the New York and Prague Fringe Festivals, Darlin is equal parts bold theatrics and raw music.
His three EPs - Mr. Monogamy, Hump Daze, and Push - are all available now at johnnydarlin.bandcamp.com, for a free sample of what you're in for!
