Fred Randolph Quintet
An afternoon of original modern jazz with gospel and world music influences featuring Fred Randolph on Acoustic/Electric basses, Dan Zemelman on piano, Greg Wyser-Pratte on drums, Sheldon Brown on saxophones and Erik Jekabson on trumpet/flugelhorn. The riveting music encompasses multi-layered compositions and a diverse palette of sounds, ranging from straight ahead to bebop and world. After playing together for many years and recording three CDs, the quintet has recently appeared in the film "Fourth Movement" and has melded into a tight-knit force of boundless creativity, energy, and technical virtuosity.
