Craig Taborn
Craig Taborn has become one of the most creative and sought after pianists in modern jazz, revered by his fellow musicians and audiences alike. His sensitivity and versatility have led him to be featured in many diverse contexts, from free jazz innovator Steve Coleman and composer John Zorn, to more straight ahead settings with sax heavyweight Chris Potter and bassist Christian McBride. An ECM recording artist, Taborn is also a prolific composer with an impressive discography as a leader. A March, 2017 Downbeat cover feature referred to Craig Taborns Intellectual Beauty, while just three months later, in June, 2017, he was featured in a New York Times Magazine article, The Ethereal Genius of Craig Taborn.
Needless to say, this promises to be a performance of rare beauty. We cant wait to hear what incredible sounds emanate from the magnificent Yamaha 9 grand piano at the Union Arts Center. Not to be missed!
