THE MIGHTY DANUBE
Steve Huber, violin Ertan Torgul, violin Ivo Bokulic, viola Jennifer Kloetzel, cello Rhonda Bradetich, flute Katherine Lee, piano Aileen Chanco, piano
Masterful, romantic and passionate, the music of Hungary and Austria echoes the historic river that links these distinctive cultures along its far-flung banks. While the countries differ greatly in language and conventions, they share common artistic roots. Mighty Danube has it all from Haydns melodic confection and Dopplers exquisite pastoral to the fearless intimacy and intensity of Smetana, Liszts thunderous gallop, and Dohnanyis lush, sorrowing emotion. It is poetry and storytelling at its finest! The Mighty Danube has it all.
