40th Evening of Irish Music & Poetry
HoCoPoLitSos guest for its annual Irish Evening is the award-winning novelist and short-story writer Mike McCormack, whose latest novel Solar Bones is one sentence.
McCormacks reading will be followed by a concert of traditional Irish music and step-dancing.
McCormack, who lives in Galway, hails from County Mayo, Ireland. A short story writer and novelist, his works include Forensic Songs and Notes from a Coma shortlisted for the Irish Book of the Year Award along with Crowes Requiem and Getting It in the Head which received the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature and named a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. Solar Bones was recently longlisted for the 2017 Man Book prize and won the 2016 Goldsmiths Prize, awarded to fiction that breaks the mold or extends the possibilities of the novel form.
