A Bach New Year's Eve
Amor Artis continues its decades-long tradition of heralding the New Year with exalted music by one of our greatest composers. Led by violinist Daniel Lee, praised by the New York Times for his ravishing vehemence and fleet-fingered, passionate soulful performance, the instrumental ensemble includes early music luminaries Priscilla Herreid on baroque oboe and recorder and John Thiessen on baroque trumpet (hailed by the New York Times as the gold standard of Baroque trumpet playing in this country). You will enjoy some of Bachs most spirited music, including the dazzling motet, Singet dem Herrn, the New Years cantata by the same name, the lively Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, and the exquisite Dona Nobis Pacem from the B Minor Mass.
