The Fall Concert consists of two masses: one by Ludwig von Beethoven (C major) and one by Johann Nepomuk Hummel (B-flat major). Both masses were commissioned by the then-famous Esterhazy family. While both are riveting pieces of music, the Esterhazys admittedly liked one of the masses better than the other (details will be revealed in the program notes that afternoon). Come see if you agree! Also on the program will be the popular Haydn Concerto for Trumpet in E-flat major, featuring local trumpeter extraordinaire Cathy Sheridan.
