Memphis & Gospel Blues - Andy Cohen & Robin O'Herin
With special guest, local fiddle genius Alan Kaufman!

Andrew Cohen is a guitar picker of great depth, and a teacher of music in a dizzying range of blues idioms. Early on, Andy made it his business to get up with as many older blues and gospel players as possible (the list is long), in part by getting work for them at festivals and other venues. Beyond the tricky technique stuff and learning the songs themselves, his intent is to open a door to the actual lives these seminal blues carriers lived. Andy tours constantly across the US and Canada and hosts the trad. room at the International Folk Alliance. His reputation as a folk historian, master of Peidmont blues and ragtime, and student of Rev. Gary Davis precedes him. A knowledgeable and outstanding performer, his show is one you dont want to miss - right down to the dulceola!

Robin O'Herin - 2013 Boston Blues Finalist Robin O'Herin specializes in historically rich, often interactive concerts that include original and traditional American music, based in the pounding backbeat of the Mississippi Delta. She brings her own flavor to Delta and Piedmont blues and gospel. Robin has shared the stage with Paul Geremia, Andy Cohen and Roy Bookbinder. She tours regionally in the US and in Europe.

A natural teacher, she teaches in many different settings: privately, in schools and also in music camps. Subjects taught include fingerstyle and bottleneck blues guitar, ukulele, voice and songwriting, She has had her original music licensed to PBS. She loves teaching and working with raisingtheblues.org and other local organizations to bring music into the lives of children and adults to improve their quality of life. She has had her original music licensed to PBS and has had songs played on NPR's CarTalk. In addition she is in a Tap & Blues Duo with Rhythm Tap Dancer, Stefanie Weber.
