Firefly Music Blue Ridge Presents Alex Guthrie!
Firefly Music Blue Ridge is thrilled to bring Alex Guthrie and his band to beautiful Blue Ridge, GA for a special, intimate performance on Veterans' Day that will benefit Project Healing Waters. You may have seen Alex recently starring in a commercial for American Life Insurance with the legendary, one-and-only, multiple Grammy-winning superstar Jennifer Hudson. But for this one night, he's all ours!
Imagine for a moment the lovechild of Marvin Gaye, Ray LaMontagne, Vulfpeck, and John Mayer; you now know Alex Guthrie and his band. Blending soulful vocals, story-rich lyrics, and the organic synergy of the 70's southern blues bands, The Alex Guthrie Band gives you some of the most real music of our time. His powerful voice and insightful lyrics have established him in the Southeast as a must-see artist. Combining influences from classic soul and rock, blues, and folk, Alex has a sound that bridges genres and connects, emotionally, to the music lover in everyone.
Opening for Alex will be Blue Ridge favorite Kyle Vincent, one of Blue Ridge's favorite local musicians. Kyle has been playing guitar, as well as writing, since he was roughly 14 years old. When it comes to his writing style he believes, "Less is more", and he showcases that with simple, heartfelt lyrics drawn from personal pains or pleasures.
Project Healing Waters is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. They strive to effectively serve the deserving past and present members of our armed forces who have made great sacrifices in the service of our nation.
Come out and have a great time and support an even greater cause, the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our country and our freedom.
The concert will be held at an elegant Lake Blue Ridge lodge constructed by Keith Sumner Homes. David Cook played here recently and called it one of his favorite shows ever!
