Pianist / composer Anne Sajderas newest project returns to the Bay Area, featuring twoaward-winning young instrumentalists / composers from Prague: alto sax player Jan Feoand trumpeter Miroslav Hloucal. The project includes original compositions, drivingarrangements of traditional Roma melodies, & music of modern jazz masters like HerbieHancock & Kenny Kirkland... modern jazz at its most refined.

Miroslav Hloucal is a composer-in-residence for the Czech Radio Big Band and the 2017 winner ofthe Bohemia JazzFest OSA Composition Competition. A graduate of the Jaroslav Jezek Conservatory, Hloucal became a professor in the jazzdepartment at Prague's International Conservatory in 2011 and went on in 2012 to win first prize in the JazzPrix 2012/Jazz an der Donau competition with his own quintet.www.miroslavhloucal.com
Jan Feo establishedhis own quartet in 2010, focusing on his primary inspirational elements of contemporary jazz & hard-bop. Withadditional influences spanning the musical spectrum from Latin American music to hip-hop, he also weaves inRomani (Gypsy) folk melodies to create a uniquely authentic jazz perspective. A graduate of the Jaroslav JezekConservatory, Feo won Best Soloist in 2011 at International Jazz Fest in Nový Hrad (Czech Republic), in 2012his ensemble won first place in the Czech Jazz Contest (Prague) and in 2013 his ensemble was one of the fouryoung artist ensembles from across Europe performing at the Getxo Jazz Festival (Spain). .www.janfeco.com
