ERIC LAMBERTS recent accolades include a 2015 Best Entertainer Chicago Music Award. A world-class flatpicking guitarist, sought-after educator, and outstanding performer from the Chicago area, Eric is an international-touring artist with a career spanning over 40 years. Lambert performs solo, as well as teamed up with other high-caliber musicians. A well-connected veteran, Eric knows the very best and plays with them routinely!.
CHRIS WALZ is a nationally acclaimed bluegrass multi-instrumentalist with a reverence for Americas musical story. Chris perfected his Scruggs-style banjo playing and guitar flatpicking at a young age as he studied all his musical heroes from Pete Seeger to Mississippi John Hurt to Woody Guthrie to Dave Van Ronk. Whether it is his lightning speed on the banjos fretboard, his hard hitting grooves on the guitar or his tender melodic touch on the mandolin, Chriss playing dazzles. As an actor, his role as Woody Guthrie in a national tour of the show "Woody Guthrie's American Song" kept him busy for many years before he began touring with Greg Cahills Special Consensus.
The LilFest Series regularly presents folk and international concerts in intimate settings in the Eastern Iowa region. Past performers include Jim Post, James Lee Stanley, Eric Taylor, Claudia Nygaard, Radoslav Lorkovic, and Nathan Bell. LilFest ( http://www.LilFest.org/ ) was originally developed in the Chicago area by Nancy Emrich Freeman, the now-resident of Mount Vernon continues a grand tradition of bringing the finest musicians to play in the places that are best for both the person onstage and the fan in the nearby seat.
