The Bonfire at the Iron Furnaces will take place Saturday, October 21, 2017, from 6:00 - 10 PM at the historic Scranton Iron Furnaces, a truly unique site with the remains of a standing blast furnace.
This year's event will feature music by Light Weight playing pop and rock, fire twirlers, face painting, fire hooping, tarot card readings, a balloon artist, arts and crafts activities, bagpipers, live theatre, the ceremonial lighting of the bonfire, and food & beverage, of course!
Tickets include admission to the festival and $5 in Bonfire Bucks, to use towards food, beverage, and activities. Tickets are $15 online or $20 at the gate. As always, entrance to the festival is free for children 12 and under.
The Bonfire Festival, a fundraiser for the Anthracite Heritage Museum, explores the roots of Halloween in Celtic culture and celebrates other cultural autumn festivals while highlighting Northeastern PAs industrial past.
