SOLI opens its 24th season with composer Sebastian Curriers fast-paced and intricate Verge, Daniel Schnyders jazz-inspired A Friday Night in August, and George Tsontakis Eclipse, a highly dramatic and lyrical, multi-movement work, perfectly displaying the composers eclectic style, which combines the currents of early modernism, post-Romanticism, Impressionism, and Expressionism combined to create a language of his own. This program was tailored to fit the dynamism of the ensembles new home at Jazz TX, San Antonios newest and most versatile hot spot for live music, located in the historic Pearl Brewery. SOLI is excited to be part of their diverse line-up, highlighting the music and music-makers of south Texas.
