This program will feature music of Monteverdi performed by Baroque Ensemble with Soprano soloist Yelena Dudochkin with Ilya Kazantsev on Harpsichord. The concert will follow a short lecture on the art of Caravaggio that will explore how it influenced the future generations of artists. Caravaggio and Monteverdi were contemporaries. Both artists are considered revolutionaries and both are still revered and widely performed.
