Johannes Brahms continually looked back towards the Baroque era to search for inspiration in the building blocks of architecture and expression for his compositions, the great keyboardist, François Couperin, being one such important, but overlooked influence. In the final concert of our 2017-18 season, Sarasa presents the beloved String Sextet in B-flat, Op. 18 by Brahms, with rearview mirrors focused firmly on Couperin and Haydn. Music by François Couperin, Franz Joseph Haydn and Johannes Brahms
