Connie Kaldor is joined not only by her husband Paul Campagne in concert but her two sons Gabriel and Aleksi Campagne, who are in their 20s. Kaldors big personality and timeless songs like Wood River and Prairie Moon make for a full concert on their own, but theres a special element with her sons there.
Its not just pride Kaldor feels performing with her sons, its the joy of playing with simply good players. Thats always a thrill with any musician that you play with, when they come in with something that just delights. Its so spectacular, you cant help yourself. Those are the truly golden, fabulous moments. And when its your son who does that, its a double whammy of holy cow.
On the other hand, she adds, dryly, theyre stealing the show. Im going to have to talk to them about that.
