Big, big news!! Cora Vette (winner of Westword's Best of Denver 2012 Best Burlesque Night) is opening a brand new show, Thursday nights at Bar Standard!

Travel with us back to a time when movies were colorized, Dorothy first stepped into Oz and speakeasies were the bee's knees. Welcome to "Technicolor Tease!" - an all new Burletta! A Burletta is a burlesque operetta, and is the perfect way to describe this all singing, all dancing, all live music spectacular, featuring Cora Vette, The VaVaVettes, and a live jazz combo!

Cora Vette has spent the last 15 years researching the naughty/bawdy side of our American Musical history. She has already produced 2 burlesque musicals, Leadville or BUST! and Reefer Mania (Denver's Gone To Pot). Technicolor Tease is the completion of this trilogy, featuring jazz era, speakeasy style, swank and sass.

The costumes for Cora Vette and the VaVaVettes are personally designed and sewn by Cora Vette at her vintage reproduction/burlesque costume shop, VaVaVette, located in the Wazee Union at 3501 Wazee. She and her business partner Eve Vette aim to make Denver sparkly!

Bar Standard is the perfect venue for this new weekly show. Bar Standard is located at 1037 Broadway on the first floor of the historic Jonas Brothers Furs building and features a swanky art deco style interior. The Jonas Brothers Furs building was originally constructed in 1923 and is topped with an extremely rare surviving neon sign that dates from the 1920's.

Now, underneath that neon landmark will be Cora Vette's Technicolor Tease Thursdays! Decadence, debauchery and live jazz. Come put on the Ritz with us!

Join Cora Vette and the VaVaVettes at 8PM for the "Standards Social Club", a preshow meet and mingle with the ladies and HALF PRICE DRINKS until the start of the show! Technicolor Tease begins around 8:30PM, featuring great music, pretty girls, jazz era swing and other naughty things. Then, stay for another half hour of the Standards Social Club with more half price drinks! Come make a night of it!

A limited number of $30 VIP seats are available on a first come first serve basis. VIP seating is the best in the house, right on the runway. A group of 4 together receives 2 bottles of champagne to enjoy during the show!
