The Vivs bring their guitar-driven power-pop to the Lizard Lounge for one last show, and to introduce their newest CD Odds. The Vivs love The Kinks, Scrawl, Fleetwood Mac, Television, and Throwing Muses. But, theyre pretty hard to nut-shell. Blurt Magazine says if Patti Smith had teamed up with George Harrison, it might sound like this... Their literate, old school guitar pop is "sharpshooter-sure, positively defiant, and bracingly fresh (Boston Globe.)
Franc Graham Band is low rock, swamp rock, alt-Americana, and hillbilly hip. Gorgeous tone and melodies by Graham, backed by an all-star band. Theyve shared the stage with such greats as Lucinda Williams (who dubbed herself a Franc Graham convert.) Weekly Dig says Graham evokes P.J. Harvey and says shell sweep you away like the Fall wind.
Dark Wheels features current and former members of Eddie Japan, Tribe, Old Jack and The Ward Eights. Equal parts craft and aggression, the Dark Wheels guitar-driven sound is rooted in the traditions of the 70s and 80s, but occupies a stylistic and emotional space that is all their own.
