Folk Ballads Retold
Soprano Andrea Leap, flutist Julie Johnson and percussionist Bob Stacke re-imagine traditional folk ballads with fresh takes on ancient tunes of Britain, Greece and Argentina. Dramatic, timeless, violent and beautiful, these sung stories gain new relevance with inventive arrangements and improvisations.  Created in part with a MacPhail Composer Commissioning Grant.

Andrea Leap is a fiscal year 2017 recipient of an Artist Initiative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.  This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
