Dave Becker Sextet
The San Luis Obispo County Jazz Federation presents the Dave Becker Sextet, featuring acclaimed LA trombonist Kevin Hicks, on Saturday night, July 8th, at the Unity Concert Hall (1130 Orcutt Rd./SLO).
The Sextet, with the three-man front line (Becker, saxes, Bob Bennett, trumpet and Hicks on trombone), will play straight-ahead jazz reminiscent of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. The stellar rhythm section of Marshall Otwell, piano, Darrell Voss, drums, and Dylan Johnson, bass, round out the group.
The concert starts at 7:30pm, with the doors opening at 7:00pm. Tickets are $20 for General admission, $15 for Jazz Fed members and $10 for students; advance tickets can be purchased at BooBoos Records/SLO and through BrownPaperTickets.com. For further information contact www.slojazz.org or 546-3733.
