Jesse Townes, LIVE In the Living Room
Jesse Townes has led two lives. In one, he graduated with a degree in neuroscience, and spent five years studying genetic mutational bias in bacteria. Simultaneously, in the other, he was a founding member of vocal group Gentlemans Rule, and spent four years touring around the country, performing at venues like the Wolftrap, Soldier Field, and LAs own Greek Theater. One of these lives got the better of him, and, at the end of 2016, led him all the way from the humble Midwest to beautiful Los Angeles, in hopes of starting a solo career in which he could teach people the intricacies of bacterial genetics through song. Come check it out!
Just kidding. Focusing on R&B and soul, Jesse lives for the music that moves, that resonates in your bones. He plans to finish an EP later this year, with an album out early next year, but until then, he just wants to play. Because one thing is certain: there aint nothing like live music.
