Spirit of the 80's with Start Making Sense: The Ultimate Talking Heads Tribute Band with Dead Letter Office and more
The Lewiston-Porter Class of 1987 celebrates the 30 years since they graduated from the hallowed halls of Lew-Port, by inviting anyone who graduated in the 1980's, or just loves the 80's music, to another Spirit of the 80's celebration. This years event moves to Somewhere Bar & Grill in Youngstown, NY featuring the ultimate Talking Heads Tribute act, Start Making Sense! If David Byrne is one of the geniuses of modern times, then Start Making Sense is a tribute to genius. The musicians in this 7-piece Talking Heads Tribute take pride in faithfully recreating the music of Talking Heads entire career. Together they bring much of the Heads unique live show to the stage, with front man Jon Braun as a spot-on David Byrne, giving you a once in a lifetime experience. Prepare yourself for a rockin, funkin, danceable celebration of the new-wave art punk you loved from the 80s! Start Making Sense took their name from the Talking Heads revered 1984 concert film, Stop Making Sense, and promises to recreate the key songs of its namesake, as well as the overall visual specificities of a Talking Heads show. In fact, Talking Heads/Parliament Funkadelic keyboardist Bernie Worrell has issued a raving endorsement, calling Start Making Sense a great representation of Talking Heads music. What else could you ask for? Start Making Sense are selling out rooms throughout Eastern PA and into NY and beyond. This band will be a huge hit, as the Talking Heads are never on tour and the band's amazing dedication to the music and fun loving attitude has proven to be a favorite at clubs and festivals.
Dead Letter Office at 7:00
Formed in 2014, Dead Letter Office faithfully recreates the sounds and sights of an REM show. Unlike other REM tribute bands, Dead Letter Office has five members. This allows them to tackle the complete REM catalog, so fans can hear all of their favorite hits and deep cuts.
