Peninsula Girls Chorus presents, "The Song Speaks: Celebrating Poetry in Song"
Join Peninsula Girls Chorus as we share the culminating event of our season, "The Song Speaks". This spring's repertoire shines the spotlight on music that has beautiful poetic text. Come and hear music set to poetry by Emily Dickinson, Sara Teasdale, Emma Lazarus, Langston Hughes, Lt. John McCrae, and Mark Twain.

Saturday's concert will feature a preview of the music our tour choir will take with them to Sydney, Australia, including the American folk tunes "Bring Me Little Water Silvey" and "Amazing Grace". Come hear the amazing new work by California composer Kevin Memley, The "New Colossus" which utilizes the text inscribed on the inside of the Statue of Liberty.

Sundays concert features the mighty middle.all three of our middle level choirs and a world premiere of a new song written specifically for Brava by Bay Area composer and PGC parent Mark Fish, "Life Doesn't Frighten Me at All," with text by Maya Angelou. The  mighty middle will perform a varied program that ends with a fantastic finale, Dont Let the Music Stop, using text of I Hear America Singing by Walt Whitman.

You won't want to miss these afternoons of musical artistry!
