Hail Bright Cecilia!
Our first program celebrates the two giants of English Baroque music: Henry Purcell, John Blow and G. F. Handel, in a program praising the great patron saint of music St. Cecilia. This annual British festival was notably rich with good music: these English composers clearly loved a good party as is evident by the choral splendor, sensuous strings and soloists, and resounding trumpets that prevail throughout the music written for this special day.
Conducted by Chris Lane, our program features the musicians and soloists of the HPSOB, and the All Saints Parish choir on November 19, 2018 at All Saints Parish.
