The New Orleans Chamber Orchestra opens its second summer season with an evening of Dreams en Français. Harpist Catherine Anderson is featured in Ravels brilliant Introduction and Allegro. Soprano Amy Pfrimmer joins in arias from Gretrys Sylvain (the first opera performed in New Orleans and the United States) and favorite French songs and arias. The orchestra with conductor Phillip Larroque presents Albert Roussels enchanting suite from Le Marchand de sable qui passe (The Sandman) and a world premiere from New Orleans composer Ben Stonaker completes the program.
