The Tragical History of Dr. Faustus
The world renowned scholar, Dr. Faustus, has grown tired of the mortal practices of law, medicine and theology and has decided to venture into the realm of the Dark arts to seek unlimited knowledge and power.  After speaking with magicians Valdes and Cornelius he envelopes himself into darkness, casting incantations, calling into the depths of Hell to raise the devil Mephistopheles, a minion of Lucifer.  Faustus seeks to sell his soul to Lucifer in exchange for twenty four years of endless knowledge and power at his finger tips and Mephistopheles as his servant. Faustus' torn between this seemingly limitless power and the voices of heaven pleading for him to repent.

Lance has set this classic tale in the 1960's in the heat of the Women's Liberation Movement with an almost entirely Female cast.  Dr. Faustus is not afraid to ask the questions, do we still question faith? Do we still thumb our nose at hell and ever lasting damnation? What are the dangers of unlimited knowledge and more importantly unrestricted Power.

Our impulse to explore the darkness at the neglect of the divine still resonates to anyone who has seen the ugly stories of the modern world unfold into chaos; to anyone who has ever witnessed the downfall of the powerful, the charismatic, and the proud. Wax Wings Production hopes you join us for this thrilling third part of our season.
