Sense of Place
Inspired by this years Cuba exchange, Cascadia Composers celebrates our unique sense of place and the special qualities of the Pacific Northwest with a concert that will feature new works by nine local composers inspired by our air, water, people and music. This concert includes original compositions and performances by: Matthew Neil Andrews: Portland Suite (alto sax, electric bass and percussion) John Bilotta: Beauty from Forgetfulness (piano trio) Jack Gabel: Impromptu (piano trio) Mei-Ling Lee: Combustion (fixed media) Liz Nedela: PDX (solo piano) Christina Rusnak: Coal Creek (two violins, bass clarinet, and marimba) Dawn L. Sonntag: Postcards from Denali (string quartet) William Toutant: Songs for Nan (soprano and piano)
