In the Fall 2015 guitarist Cecil Alexander turned to vocalist Ari Jaye with the foundations of the guitar-centric song Shoulder Deep that he initially intended to exist in a contemporary jazz environment.

However, with the addition of her lyrics, the music evolved into an intimate collaboration that quickly became the band "Visen." As the project was being realized, Isaac Wangs intricate productions and arranging not only sculpted the music but emphasized the shift of perspective from the one-take, raw Tell Me, Tell Me to the driven, motivic Never.

Balancing between straightforward and daringly analytical, Visens debut EP, Shoulder Deep explores three different stages of separation under a blunt, ghost-like veil. The melodies move as shadows through dimly lit landscapes of a divided country, relationship and identity.

Currently, the trio is performing as a duo in Phoenix. Their EP "Shoulder Deep" is set for a mid-April release.
