Saturday, Nov 10, 2012- TRD Vice vs NAZRD Whiskey Rowllers and TRD CQ vs AZRG All Stars
Everyone is thankful for something this season, and Tucson Roller Derby is no exception.
This November, our girls are thankful for skates on our feet, our new warehouse, and another month of great derby action! On November 10th, kick off your holiday season early with the first double header of Season 10. In the first game of the evening, the local ladies in black and blue, The VICE Squad, will battle it out against Northern Arizona Roller Derby in their second conference game. Later, the Copper Queens will take on the All Stars of the Arizona Roller Girls, another great team from the Phoenix area.
Tucson Roller Derby is extremely thankful for all the support we receive from our fans and our community, and we love to pay that support forward. For the month of November, our featured charity is the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is: To create and support one-to-one adult-to-child mentor relationships guiding youth from a position of risk to one of achieving their highest potential. Dr. Hugh C. Thompson Jr. founded Big Brothers of Tucson in 1963, matching 23 young men with adult mentors in the community. In the four decades since then, one man's vision has grown into an agency that has helped change the lives of over 10,000 Tucson boys and girls. In 1981 Big Brothers of Tucson merged with the Big Sisters program, then run by the YWCA, and became Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson. Season 10 is underway, and the battle for the Arizona State Conference championship is in full swing. Come out for a night of great food, amazing athleticism, and your favorite Tucson Roller Derby skaters. Will the VICE Squad keep riding high after their first Season 10 game win? Or will the Whiskey Row-llers bring the lady cops to their knees? How will the Copper Queens fare against the All Stars from AZRG?
