Vera Van Heeringen Trio
Vera van Heeringen's debut album, Standing Tall, was released in 2012 and marked a change of direction after nearly five years of touring as part of New Rope String Band. A highly skilled instrumentalist, she has long been recognised for her graceful yet gutsy guitar playing and her soulful songs, which have led to comparisons with John Martyn and Richard Thompson.
In 2015 Vera released her second album, Proper Brew, which features a list of collaborators who share her musical aesthetic, including Tim OBrien, Dirk Powell, Rayna Gellert and Kris Drever.
As part of a touring trio, Vera works with two highly acclaimed musicians, Dave Luke (vocals, mandolin and guitar) and Andy Seward (double bass) who interweave beautiful harmonies and exquisite instrumentals into her expressive and heartfelt songs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to see Vera Van Heeringen Trio play an intimate gig in the beautiful surroundings of The Lodge at Lochside, Wee Bear Cafe in Lintrathen. Delicious Stovies will be served during the interval as part of the ticket price. Non-alcoholic drinks can be purchased or bring your own bottle.
