Michael Cooney
Undoubtedly Michael Cooney was destined to play the Irish pipes. His father, Martin, and his uncles played in the Sean Tracey Pipe Band in Littleton that his grandfather and great uncles founded. At a young age, Michael took a liking to the whistle, and soon after, the amazingly complicated Uilleann bagpipes. He has gone on to become one of the true masters of this strange, wonderful instrument. Michael has many friends here in St Louis; it is a delight to welcome him back for a concert.
