MISERERE MEI: MUSIC FOR HOLY WEEK
Cantores in Ecclesia, Blake Applegate, director, presents its annual concert for Palm Sunday on April 9, 2017, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in SE Portland. This years concert, Miserere mei: Music for Holy Week, features sacred works by Allegri, Byrd, Gesualdo, Monteverdi and Poulenc. Highlights of the program include Allegris famous Miserere, Gesualdos Tenebrae Responsoria for Holy Saturday and Poulencs dramatic Quatre motets pour un temps de pénitence.
