L.A. by-way-of Green Bay, Wis., band The Violet Lights celebrate their North AMerican tour and the release of their EP "Sex and Sound" tonight at the Lizard Lounge. The band let Britpop influences overshadow their NYC garage-rock and indie-pop urges, but it's certainly not anything to be upset about. In fact, the duo comprised of Joel Nass and Amber Garvey use plenty of meaty guitar lines and hummable hooks we usually hear from artists across the pond to great affect. This is certainly a buzz band to watch. Local indie-rock bands The I Want YOu and Eksi Ekso join in and Jessica Sun Lee from Lee Sunbeam opens at 8:30.
