The Planetary Society SXSW Members Reception
The Planetary Society is coming to Texas for the world premiere of the documentary film Bill Nye: Science Guy at the prestigious South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival. And word has it that the story of our LightSail spacecraft is tightly woven into the narrative. Yes, LightSail is about to make its Hollywood film debut!
To celebrate, were hosting a special pre-premiere party on Saturday, March 11, from 7:00 9:30 p.m. Get your space geek on with Society President Jim Bell, Board members Robert Picardo and Britney Schmidt, and Planetary Society staff. Well serve cool retro snacks and drinks, and be the first people to preview a short clip of the film.
Robert Picardo will discuss the clip with the films creators David Alvarado, Jason Sussberg, and Kate McLean. Bill Nye will join us later for dessert and an exciting report on our peak year at The Society.
