SCGA Workshop: Transition and Taxes
As Cannabis Operators are well aware, the upcoming regulations for the cannabis industry, are scary, uncertain and confusing for many operators. SCGA will host a workshop to cover two top questions for cannabis operatorshow do I transition my existing operation into a permitted and licensed operation, and how will my business be impacted by the proposed tax measures?
SCGAs Workshop Transition and Taxes will cover two main topics the transition period for medical cannabis collectives to a new permitted/licensed industry, and the cannabis business taxes proposed by the County of Sonoma and the City of Santa Rosa, which will be assessed against cannabis business operators.
SCGAs presenters, Attorney Julie Mercer-Ingram and Paralegal Jolene Strange with Canna Legal, a division of Beck Law, P.C., will provide an in-depth evaluation of the process required to transition a medical cannabis collective to a commercial cannabis business under both local and state regulations and laws. This is a confusing process for many operators, and, Julie and Jolene hope to provide clarification for existing operators to help them understand the elements required to transition under this new process.
Diane Piccioni, CPA will discuss the implications and best practices for operators in bookeeping.
*The County tax vote is on March7th.
