Songwriter/composer Brian Carpenter (Beat Circus, Ghost Train Orchestra) and his latest band The Confessions release their first CD single "Blind", mixed in the Arizona desert by Craig Schumacher (Calexico, Neko Case) with a stunning video created by Australian animators Maricar/Maricor. Carpenter recently recorded with Michael Gira's latest reincarnation of Swans, and last year was interviewed on NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross.
Animal Hospital is the solo musical recording/performance entity of Kevin Micka. Micka buries himself in a pile of electronics-shelves of effects, mixing consoles, amps and delay units, while patiently constructing a beautiful and layered nest of loops. Micka, also known for his role in Boston's legendary Neptune, has recently been performing and recording with the 25-piece Animal Hospital Ensemble to great critical acclaim.
Alec K. Redfearn and his band The Eyesores (out of Providence RI) has long been one of the most innovative and exciting bands of the Northeast. They will be releasing their first full-length CD in four years, funded by a Kickstarter project last winter, and performing all new material from the album.
The Wrong Shapes is a duo featuring singer/guitarist Bo Barringer (Future Carnivores, MEandJOANCOLLINS) and cellist/singer Rachel Arnold. Barringer has long been one of Boston's great songwriters and his latest project is mesmerizing
