Michael Eck - Bound for Glory: 100 years of Woody Guthrie
The Beacon Sloop Club proudly presents musician Michael Eck performing a tribute to Woody Guthrie entitled "Bound for Glory: 100 Years of Woody Guthrie" at 4pm on Oct. 28th at the Beacon Institute Gallery, 199 Main St., Beacon NY .
Woody Guthrie was born July 14, 1912 in Okemak Oklahoma. Pretty Boy Floyd, Pastures of Plenty, Hard Travlin', Deportees, and This Land is Your Land are among the hundreds of his songs that have influenced generations of musicians.
All proceeds will go to support the restoration of the ferry sloop Woody Guthrie which provides free public sails on the Hudson River.
Only 75 tickets will be sold for this event. Advance sale ticket Holders will have a chance to win a signed copy of Pete Seeger's new CD "Pete Remembers Woody".
The Beacon Sloop Club Inc. is a 501 (c) (3), all volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation of the Hudson River and its environs.
