Opera in the Café: The Magic Flute
Violinist Annegret Klaua from Ensemble 451 and guest violinist Beth Welty will perform The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In an arrangement for two violins, with the original edition published in 1792, they will narrate the story of The Magic Flute and perform the most beautiful arias and duets from the opera. Chamber music arrangements of operas were very popular in the 18th and 19th century as it was the only way of getting to know opera arias apart from hearing them in the opera house. Come and enjoy Mozart's glorious music in the intimacy of the Armory Café and let yourself be enchanted by the magic of one of his most beloved operas! This concert is an event for all ages.
