Starters and Quitters at Devil Mountain Coffee House
The Starters are Laura Zucker and Glenn Pomianek, whose collaboration sprung from a mutual admiration society: Laura thinks Glenn is a supremely talented player and insightful collaborator, and Glenn thinks Laura is a thoughtful lyricist with a great ear for melodies. And when they throw in their lot together? Pure magic.
The Quitters is a guitar duo, Glenn Houston (nee Pomianek) and Stevie Coyle, consisting of a right-side up finger picker and an upside down flat picker. More importantly they were two of the three founding members of the virtuoso string band, The Waybacks, and one was the long-time lead guitarist and co-founder of the Americana powerhouse, Houston Jones. They deliver a mostly acoustic celebration of flatpick and fingerstyle mastery, plus vocals, spiced with humor and serendipity.
