Fringe Percussion presents "Remembrance: John Cage at 100"
"Remembrance: John Cage at 100" features Fringe Percussion, Jon Siddall, and Gamelan Si Pawit in a program of powerful, contemporary music that celebrates the work of John Cage and other composers who have been influenced by his thoughts, ideas, and music.
Fresh off acclaimed performances with Bob Becker (Nexus, Steve Reich and Musicians) and Aiyun Huang (Xenakis' "Persephassa" at the Vancouver New Music Festival), Fringe Percussion is ready for another outstanding evening of music.
Don't miss this rare opportunity to hear Cage's "Haikai" with Gamelan Si Pawit on the original instruments for which it was written and other masterworks such as Cage's "Third Construction" and Lou Harrison's "The Song of Quetzalcoatl". The program also features "I Love Paul Klee" by Vancouver's own Jocelyn Morlock and the world premiere of Jon Siddall's "Nitobe, Tea".
