Bemidji Symphony Orchestra presents Cinematic Legends!
The Bemidji Symphony Orchestra presents Cinematic Legends on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 3:00PM at the Bemidji High School Auditorium. Doors open for seating at 2:30PM.
The concert will feature much-loved themes from movies such as Frozen, James Bond, The Mission, and Harry Potter plus epic scores from such films as Star Wars, Phantom of the Opera, and The Sound of Music. Dr. Beverly Everett conducts. The concert is being co-sponsored by Sanford Health of Bemidji and the BSO's "Cinema Stars."
Dr. Everett will discuss key musical passages, drawing attention to specific sections of the orchestra and demonstrating how music is used to intensify emotions during particular scenes of a movie.
This is a family friendly concert, and kids of all ages are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite movie character. Everyone is invited to take a selfie with Dr. Everett in the lobby before or after the concert.
This activity is made possible, in part, by a grant provided by the Region 2 Arts Council through an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the States general fund.
