Volti: Youth and Music!
Volti -- San Francisco's award-winning specialists in contemporary vocal music -- opens its concert season with a celebration of song featuring the high school choirs from our educational outreach program, the Choral Institute for High School Singers. This year we feature Colla Voce from The Head-Royce School in Oakland, and the Concert Choir from Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts. These kids are amazing musicians and this concert is a high-spirited explosion of sound, as each choir sings selections of its own and then all 100+ singers -- high schoolers and adults together -- join in a final massed piece, William Albright's gorgeous 1979 "Chichester Mass."
