Kairos presents Carissimi's "Jephte" and Schütz's "Musikalische Exequien"
On November 10 and 11, Kairos: A consort of Singers presents the fourth in our "Great Baroque Choral Works" series with two moving performances of Giacomo Carissimi's mid-17th century oratorio Jephte and Heinrich Schütz's requiem service Musikalische Exequien. Jephte recounts the gripping Old Testament drama of a man who helps his people defeat the Ammonites, but must sacrifice the life of his only child in exchange. Furthering the drama after Jephte's daughter laments her impending death, our program follows with Schütz's requiem service. An event not to be missed!
