Ladyslipper Ensemble: Frenemies
Sahar Hassan (mezzo-soprano), Phillip Rukavina (Theorbo), Paul Berget (Theorbo, lute & gamba) & Mary Virginia Burke (gamba) What did Italy, France and Germany have in common? They were frenemies! Sometimes they got along and sometimes they didnt. Presenting music of the 17th century, the Ensemble focuses on the exchange of musical styles, forms and influences that came about, while creative traffic, between the three countries, truly took off in the course of cultural tourism. The program to include works of Lambert and Ballard & MouliniƩ, as well as Castoldi, Kapsberger, Keiser and Weiss.
