Auld Reekie Roller Girls take on Newcastle Roller Girls
On Saturday 28th January, Edinburghs Auld Reekie Roller Girls will kick their 2017 season off in capital style with a fierce battle against Newcastle Roller Girls at Meadowbank Stadium.
The first fixture of the year for Auld Reekie will see their All Star Rookies take on Newcastles North Cs and with both teams being relatively evenly ranked, it promises to be an explosive start to a big year of roller derby for Scotlands top ranked league.
ARRGs All Star Rookies had a phenomenal 2016, winning seven out of their eight games with an average point differential of over 163! All this despite only officially being formed as an ARRG team in June; safe to say the team will bring their already renowned unwavering grit and athleticism to their game against Newcastle in order to continue their winning form into the New Year.
Roller derby presents spectators with an opportunity for an excellent sporting experience or to try something different for 2017 and is suitable for all the family. The game day experience is made up of high action, nail-biting derby but also includes local craft stalls and food vendors, loads to keep the kids entertained, great roller derby merchandise and a bar what more could you ask for!?
Tickets: £5 online, £8 (£6 concessions) on the door, free entry for under 14s
