Are the winter blues kicking in? Have you eaten too many holiday sweets? Have you been neglecting your quad skates for ice skates? Well then we have just the thing for you so grab your toques and scarves and strap on your derby gear because Winter Warpath is back!

Welcome to Warpath 2017, Bigger and better than ever featuring training by six coaches with tremendous amounts of on and off skates experience, Coaching and Captains seminars, Skater trainings, loads of games to watch and a scrimmage!

Bio Coach Lime
Lime has been coaching roller derby for the past ten years, getting his start with the Oil City Derby Girls back in 2007. Career highlights include coaching Saskatoons Mindfox to first place finishes at the 2013 Centrals and RDAC National Championships, coaching Team Canada Mens at the 2014 World Cup in Birmingham, UK and in Calgary in 2016 and helping coach the Moncton Muddy River Lumbersmacks to three consecutive Atlantic Championships. Over the years, he has guest coached a number of teams throughout North America and has run numerous coaching and skills clinics and boot camps from the beginner to advanced level, both junior and senior. He is known for his love of the strategic side of the game and he will be teaching his vision of the most current and effective strategies.
Currently, Lime serves as head coach for Vancouvers Terminal City All Stars (18th WFTDA) and the up-and-coming Edmonton E-Ville Dead (91st WFTDA).
Over the years, Lime has served as head coach and game coach for: Team Canada Mens (2011-2016). CRDA All Stars, Oil City Derby Girls, Kamloops Deadlies, OSRDA Travel Team, E-Ville Dead, Saskatoon Mindfox, Team Alberta, Team Saskatchewan, Team Canada (2008 UK Tour), Norsask Diefenbreakers, Regina Sugar Skulls, Vancouver Murder, Red Deer Belladonnas, Red Deer Dreadnaughts, Edmonton River City Riot, Fredericton Daisy Cutters, Moncton Lumbersmacks, Calgarys Reservoir Dogs, PEI Red Rock n Rollers and many others.

El Tannant has been a coaching staff member with Roller Derby Quebec since the leagues founding in 2010. As a skater he plated with the Mont Royals from 2012 until 2016 and was a pertinent member of Team Canada Mens Roller Derby team in 2014 and 2016. He empowers those he works with to challenge themselves for each and every jam and brings a lighthearted and caring attitude to the bench that is welcomed by skaters and respected by coaches and volunteers alike. Winter Warpath epitomizes the spirit of Roller Derby and is a must attend event for him. He cannot wait to share his coaching techniques with everyone this year.

Brad Pittiful became a student of the sport of roller derby the moment he joined in 2011, choosing to gather various perspectives of the game by being a referee, player and coach. Allowing himself to work with various levels of skaters has aided him in helping to run training camps on Jamming, Blocking and other skills around the region. As a coach for Team N.B. and The Shipyard Sirens he attended State Wars and North East Derby Convention and was exposed to a high level of skating and coaching that only added to the drills he runs from studying top WFTDA teams and games. Brad Pittiful will be focusing on coordinated offence and defense as well as techniques for jammers on how to approach various defensive formations.

SMEGMARC
Smegmarc is not simply a coach who looks good in a tie. His roots in derby trace back to 2008 where his fandom of the sport found him specializing as an NSO and Announcer before eventually becoming the Trainer for the newly WFTDA Apprentice League, Roller Derby Quebec for 4 seasons. He has coached Casse-Gueules for 2 seasons and for the past 3 seasons has coached Les Duchesses, the RDQ-A Team which includes an undefeated 2014 season placing them in the Canadian top 10. Along with 30+ bouts experience and attending various other training camps and WFTDA Officiating Clinics, Smegmarc is also a rules and strategies specialist.
Before taking a year off Smegmarc coached the season that launched RDQ into full WFTDA membership and has since returned as an assistant coach for Les Duchesses and one of the trainers for RDQ.

COACH JAY HOOK
Coach Jay Hook comes to us from Bangor, Maine. Jay owns Forging You and Forging You - Roller Derby, an online personal training service geared to serving the unique needs of roller derby athletes, where he serves skaters from various states and provinces. A Certified Personal Trainer (ACE), and certified in the Training For Warriors system, Jay has multiple years of experience working with hundreds of athletes and currently has relationships with Maine Roller Derby, Team Maine, and the Capital City Rollers. Jay uses a proven approach to building stronger, faster, more explosive roller derby athletes and places a special emphasis on injury prevention. At Warpath, Jay will be teaching strength and conditioning strategies for both off-skates training as well as how to incorporate his methods on skates at practice for both experienced and new skaters alike. Some of the topics he will be instructing include: training for sport vs training for fitness, basic movement screening and determining muscular imbalances, how to train at home without a gym, individual vs group training, training and playing with old and new injuries, structuring workouts, concussion prevention, building agility on and off skates, bullet-proofing new skaters, basic barbell and kettlebell movements, heavy vs light vs fast training, nutrition for athletes, a variety of on-skates drills, and much more.
