Gary Wittner Band - Monk's 95th!
Oct 10, 1917 is the birthday of legendary and iconic jazz pianist/composer Thelonious Monk. Guitarist Gary Wittner has been studying Monk's music since the late 1970's, has performed Monk's music on 5 continents, and has recorded Monk tunes on 4 CDs. His book "Thelonious Monk for Guitar" has received critical acclaim from guitarists worldwide. For this concert is his joined by Steve Grover on drums and Jim Cameron on sax.
